Testing Commissioning (HVAC system)

Our TAB specialist ensures to achieve optimum performance of the building HVAC equipment by adjusting and balancing the air and water system. TAB Specialist performs air and hydronic measurements on the MEP systems and adjusts the flow rates as required for achieving optimum performance of the building environmental equipment

Air Balancing

HVAC air balancing is a commissioning procedure that involves the adjustment of dampers in the ductwork and the fine-tuning of the airflow at each diffuser and grille to ensure that all diffusers and grilles have equal and balanced airflow.

Purpose of Air Balancing in HVAC

Air balancing is essential for the health of the HVAC system. Without air balancing work, the newly installed HVAC system will not perform as intended.  Air balancing   is applicable to HVAC systems that use ductwork. For instance, ducted air conditioning, toilet exhaust system and smoke extraction system.

Water Balancing

Hydronic balancing is important to the efficiency and effectiveness of chilled water system.

Why Hydronic Balancing is Needed?

In order for the AHUs and FCUs,CSU’s to cool properly, manufacturers specified the required amount of chilled water flow rate based on the cooling capacity.

 In other words, each unit has its required chilled water flow rate. The chilled water is distributed by the chilled water pumps. However, AHUs and FCUs near the chilled water pumps tend to have a higher water flow rate than the AHUs and FCUs located far away from the chilled water pumps. Consequently, AHUs and FCUs,CSU installed far away from the chilled water pumps may not receive sufficient chilled water flow rate and thus, they may not able to provide sufficient cooling.

So, hydronic balancing is extremely important in chilled water system to ensure that every AHU and FCU,CSU  is receiving sufficient chilled water flow rate as per the design and requirement.

Noise level measurement

Unwanted noise is nuisance .The most common problem in a room is too much echo or reverberation .Too much echo can garble speech clarity and intelligibility.

It is to ensure the noise level of all HVAC system within the limit recommended by the NEBB standard.

Temperature measurement

Temperature can be a particularly important measure in the built environment when considering thermal comfort of occupants and in the design of building services systems.

Air conditioner temperatures that are too high or too low indicate specific cooperating problems on central and portable or window air conditioners. Our team measures the air temperatures and assists in diagnosing what may be wrong and what repairs may be needed for the air conditioner.

Relative Humidity Measurement

Office humidity is very important for every building. If it’s too high or too low, it can affect your health, the building materials, the equipment, and more. Uncontrolled humidity levels are one of the main factors for poor indoor air quality (IAQ).

When your office humidity level is too high ,it allows dust mites and microbes to grow. The air becomes moist, and mold can start to appear. On the other hand ,low humidity can also be Troublesome. Dry air makes it difficult for some people to breathe, and it can irritate the skin, eyes.

Vibration Measurement

Vibration in its simplest form can be considered an oscillation or repetitive motion of an object around an equilibrium position. In the HVAC industry, sound is not generated without some form of vibration from equipment. Although sound is not present without vibration, there can be vibration without sound noticeable to the human ear.

CHILLED WATER SYSTEM FLUSHING

The main objective of chilled water flushing process is to remove, as much dirt and debris from the pipes work system as possible, in order to reduce the livelihood of the system blockage. The process involves various stages

  • Initial static flushing with plain water and strainer cleaning.
  • Dynamic flushing
  • Chemical flushing
